The Golf Academy at Old Greenwood’s golf learning center, designed specifically for golf instruction is the ideal golf practice facility for our golf schools, golf clinics, junior camps and private lessons.
Old Greenwood has the only golf school facility in Northern California that is designed and dedicated to instruction. From short game development to driving full-out, everything you need to improve has been incorporated into our one-of-a-kind private golf learning center.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll know you’re in for something special. At the heart of our fifteen-acre training complex is a 1,500 square foot golf school building. We’ve equipped the center with all the creature comforts you expect, like flat screen TV’s, lockers, club storage, fully staffed reception center and high speed internet access so you can stay connected to important business developments while on vacation.
The building also houses our swing analysis studio, complete with the most technologically-advanced computerized 4-camera video system available. Who wants to hit into a net? Our video capture bay allows you to hit balls from indoors to out, so that we can link swing characteristics directly to ball flight results.
Other modern weapons in our teaching arsenal include the TOMI Putting Lab, a Vector launch monitor and the K-Vest 3-D motion analysis system. Isn’t it about time you benefited from state-of-the-art teaching technology that until now has been reserved only for the elite players of the world?
The Academy’s outdoor “classroom” has two large all grass tees so there are always plush lies to practice from. You won’t see any driving range mats and bare lies here. And this is one of the largest practice facilities in the nation, a full 470 yards from end to end.
And to make sure our facility is always in pristine condition, the Academy facility is completely private--for the exclusive use of our golfer school guests. No course traffic. No distractions. No hassles. Just one place to refine every shot in the book.
Short Game Academy
Our five acre short game academy is simply incredible. You’ll fine tune your putting, chipping, pitch shot and sand play on four different greens--greens that match Tour (stimp meter) standards. And all short game sessions are conducted using new Titleist ProV1 balls instead of range balls so you can get a true feel for how the ball will react on the golf course.
Course Play
After instruction hours, you’re free to venture out onto Old Greenwood’s scenic and challenging championship course to test your newfound skills. Nestled among 600 acres of towering pines and surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas, this Jack Nicklaus Signature course is rated one of the 10 Best Upscale Public Courses in the country, by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
The three-day golf school includes a valuable on-course instruction session with a golf academy instructor. You’ll learn how to apply your newfound skills to actual play. The on-course session includes tips on strategy, club selection, recovery shots and secrets of the Tour Pros. |
